Yes! More powerful receivers made a huge difference for me.
When leaving the audiology clinic right after I got the new more powerful receivers I heard sounds I didn’t recognize. For instance I heard strange noises at street intersections. I hadn’t known that there were audible signals at crosswalks. That Wes the first time that I heard them.

@arrowshooter I hope you are right because right now I am dealing with a house full of company and it is overwhelming. I think with the normal receivers I am just feel like I am pushing my hearing aids to the max making any semblance of clarity impossible around a lot of people talking at once.
This audiologist gave me a hearing test and was stunned that nobody suggested a more powerful receiver. Unfortunately I had to order new custom moulds to accommodate the larger receivers. Still waiting for them to come in so he can reset my hearing aids. Almost his entire practice revolves around Signia hearing aids which is what I have right now.
He said any hearing aid for me without more powerful receivers would work no better than the hearing aids I have now.
I am hoping this is the answer.
Thanks for your response. I wish more people with hearing loss would share what they are going through on this site.
Thanks and have a good holiday.
