I’d like to hear how/if things have improved for anyone who has had this surgery. I cannot decide whether or not to have it...from what I’m reading the basic recovery it terrible and pain medication is not prescribed for any length of time to help women get through this surgery.

@jenben59 I had surgery (Copolcleisis for vaginal vault prolapse & bladder sling) in late November, 2025. For me, the one thing that was a source of pain and irritation was the "posterior stitch". I thought I was never going to heal, but on the day before the six weeks mark I could tell it was gone or healing. That was my Hallelujah moment. I never had to take anything stronger than Ibuprofen. I was also tired for a number of weeks too (I am 75). I am now going to physical therapy and I think it's helping especially for bladder and bowel. I told the physical therapist that I never realized that at age 75 I would need to go to school to learn how to poop!!! Haha!
