@indogirl It's hard to find the right mix/dose of antidepressants and antianxiety meds and some doctors are just better at figuring it out than others. I've had the same psychiatrist for many years and any time I've switched, I wind up going right back to him. You are not alone in this and this time of year with its dark days can be difficult, I agree. I use a bright light every morning for half an hour or so and it helps my mood. Try to work with your psychiatrist but also don't be afraid to find someone else if you think it might help. Also having a good therapist helps you vent your feelings with good feedback. Hang in there. We are here for you!!
@indogirl my doctor has prescribed Zoloft. I started at 25mg. (1 capsule) for two weeks and now am on 50mg. (2 capsules). Perhaps you could ask your doctor if you can try that …? My doctor has assured me it is not addictive (which was my concern), and the wean off period is just two weeks if I want to stop taking it.
Here’s a video a friend sent me and this, along with counselling and the Zoloft, has really helped me.

@indogirl I too am a master at hiding my feelings, especially depression. This is part of my quiet BPD (https://psychiatrymagazine.com/quiet-borderline-personality-disorder-bpd/).
You and I also share the problems of having treatment resistant depression (TRD). I’m STILL being trialed on medication after so many failures.
There are some other options you should talk with your doctor(s) about — TMS is a non-invasive treatment for depression; EMDR might also be considered if any of your depression stems from trauma; many facilities are offering Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) or even Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) which might have you come in 1-5 days per week for several hours each day. I’m actually starting ECT next month. This option provides the greatest chance of depression remission, far surpassing any medication or treatment option.
I sincerely hope that you find the help you need. You are never ignored on this page.
