Did the MRI or CT indicate that she had a stroke?
What medications was she or is she on for her RA? Wonder if there might be a connection to one on her RA meds.
I've had RA for 25 years and in 2019 I took one infusion of Simponi aria and had a reaction that has resulted in a long list of cardiac problems. I had a Pacemaker implanted this past January and in October I was in the hospital for pericarditis. Doctors blamed my RA for the pericarditis, but I think it might have been connected to the Covid vaccination I took 5 days before being hospitalized. The Covid connection is hard to prove, while RA and pericarditis are known issues for RA patients.
My older brother also has RA. Several years ago when he was in for his eye visual field test for Plaquenil , they discovered an eye issue that lead to a neurology consult, CT scans and a MRI. The CT scan showed two previous strokes, one of them had apparently effected his peripheral vision.
There is literature that says people with RA are at an increased risk for strokes.
