An update here about the tooth extraction and my CTX at the six week mark since the 225. My CTX has been drawn at the same lab and at the same time of day each of the last 4 times. This time it went down from the 225 to the 141 which was even lower than my first CTX of 145 after stopping the Prolia injection after 6/26/24 and not getting on Alendronate on 1/10/25. I found that to be very interesting. Perhaps I did not think I had exercised differently, but perhaps that made a difference. I had fasted before hand and had stopped biotin and collagen before each test. I really looking forward to seeing where my BMD stand now in January. I am hoping it has not changed.
In regards to the tooth issue I continue to be on soft foods. The extraction area seems to be healing. I am making sure I am following the necessary protocol of eating and mouth care. I am very thankful.
I will be getting a DEXA in January and will inform you about my scores after the stopping of Prolia after 2.5 years and starting on Alendronate for the year. From my reading you still need to monitor the situation closely for 24 months which I intend to do. Take care ladies and happy holidays.

Expect you are relieved about your CTX going back down.....I too experienced some wide variations only one for which I had a rational explanation...after which the CTX dropped again. Nonetheless, all my readings were low enough relatively to not trigger too much alarm....but I would enjoy life more without the roller coaster CTX results.

how much longer do you plan on taking alendronate to counter possible Prolia rebound? Does your 24 month period of monitoring start on the date of the last Prolia shot or 6 months later when the next Prolia shot was due?

Excellent news: sounds like the tooth extraction process has succeeded and produced no surprises...

I will be very curious about your January DEXA score. I am still scratching my head about the disconnect between my DEXA result last June and the expectations it might reflect good bone building/holding pattern created by encouraging CTX and P1NP results.

Happy holidays to all.
