Option of RP with PND earlier
I am currently scheduled for RP with bi lateral node dissection March 2 at Mayo Rochester. I am struggling to feel good about that date as it is 4 months from my biopsy and 3 1/2 months since PMSA Pet scan that showed nothing outside prostate.. They are just very busy start of 2026 and assure me it’s okay for me based on studies (which I’ve looked at).
I have an opportunity to have the procedure performed one month earlier with a very well regarded surgeon, cutting the time from biopsy to 3 months and from PMSA Pet to 2 1/2 months. I’ve checked with Mayo and I can work with them for post surgery opinions and/or treatment depending on post surgery pathology. I will only take the earlier option once I’ve met with the other surgeon to feel I’m in good hands. His credentials and experience are stelllar.
I am a Gleason 9. Understand PMSA Pet can miss small cancers in lymph nodes. I want to be aggressive on getting this thing out and knowing what I’m up against. Statistically not an issue bewteen 3 and 4 months but I like the idea of not giving it a month to do whatever it’s doing. It’s also mentally challenging me to wait.
Appreciate thoughts on this from veterans of this waiting time.

If you were to go on ADT right away, Preferably with Orgovyx, It would stop the cancer from growing and spreading and give you relief from the stress of having to do it after four months.
For at Gleason nine, they may want you on ADT anyway.
