Swollen stoma: Do I need to worry about this?

I just recently had an unexpected Colostomy much to my dismay. My stomach was large as well. When I had my first follow up with my Surgeon he (unfortunately I can’t remember what he called it) just pushed it back in. He said this sort of thing is fairly normal.
My biggest problem right now is infection and so much antibodics I can’t eat and getting weak.

I notice that it’s small when I wake up and gradually gets bigger throughout the day. So today I put leggings on to hold it in. Much better so far. You gave me th thought that it can retract with pushing it back as the doctor did so I think this will help hold it in and keep the size smaller. Instead of pushing out all day more and more.
