@lls8000 Eight years ago I was diagnosed with stage 1B sclc and had my right upper lobe removed using very high tech computer assisted surgery. I have just three 1” scars. I’ve luckily been fine. I did aerobic exercise post op to help build back my aerobic capacity. I remain shorter of breath than I was pre-op but - Hey! I’m grateful. Best wishes. Modern medicine & surgery create miracles.

I had a upper right lobectomy in 2014 by VATS. I was 59. I continued to play pickleball and very active after my recovery. That was around 3 months post surgery.
Best advice I can give you is that it is going to hurt. Take your pain meds as a prescribed time whether or not you habe or not to keep away pain

Also walk and do your spirometer they will give you. I have no regrets about having the surgery.
Wishing you te best
