Is tymlos or evenity better for osteoporosis

Hi,
I was not aware that it would take 18 - 24 months before we see any improvement. What if she starts the Prolia and then goes through 12 months of misery with joint pain etc before we see any improvement? My Mother is extremely sensitive to pain so I have to consider the Prolia carefully. She had a fracture and is now in a wheelchair with physio 3x a week. The thing is, unless she can stand and walk again like before there is no point putting her on the Prolia or any of these osteoporosis medications. We live in Toronto, Ontario as well.

@norahguil I also had reaction to Prolia, but mine was dental. So I quit after the first shot. Having said that, given your mom's age, I think Prolia is an excellent choice. My sister has been on it for 10 years with excellent gains and no side effects. My brother also. Bonus of only being one injection every 6 months.

We’ll “see any improvement” is subjective…actually Tymlos and other anabolic start working or making structural improvements to bone in 1-3 months but to reach full efficacy is the 18-24 months …evenity is 12 months administered once per month. Thats very fast. Again the data, if you can believe it, suggests Anabolics first. Even my doctor tried to prescribe Prolia first. It is a slower acting drug twice a year not easy to get off of but has one of the largest usage data because so many women are on it. Again I don’t think there is any easy out here just I hope a little extra info from what I found out studying an awful lot of medical studies. I can see why Prolia might have been recommended but I’m only 65 and starting there just didn’t make sense.
Forteo has a long track record but why put her through that at this point. It’s a tough decision, I know you love your Mum, it must be very difficult…Hope you have some support. My husband and I are very isolated so all this health stuff can really get you down.
Ther3 are some very kind and helpful souls here. I imagine we all move on at some point in our treatment plans and maybe neve4 come back. I hope others in the same point in their lives find this archived info helpful.
