I have been diagnostic history includes both varicose veins, chronic venous insufficiency and peripheral neuropathy etiology unknown. Aside from the regular heaviness at night I have been recently getting intermittent bouts of more intense leg pain usually in the am after sleeping. Thought it was from the veins so I went for an other ultra sound but it was not DVT thank goodness. Now I am thinking the CVI is causing the peripheral neuropathy to get worse but only in one leg do I have the issue of occasional intense pain. I see a vascular surgeon and neurologist among other specialists for other chronic conditions but nobody is putting these two conditions together. All I have been offered is gabapentin. So back to the original question. Does CVI cause neuropathy?

@dougajoi varicose veins are in the circulatory system while neuropathy is a neurological condition and arthritis is an orthopedic condition. Being a suffer of PN and a retired nurse I don’t believe your VV have anything to do with your neuropathy. From your symptoms it sounds like you’ve got something else going on referencing the heaviness and walking. Have you been checked out by a doctor?
