the last time i was sent to a physical therapist they did more harm then good. they don't look at any x-rays or read any reports from x-ray technicians they only see doctor has sent you there for "rehab" on whatever part of your body is hurting.
I had one that did a deep tissue massage and crushed a bone in my shoulder which lead to needing a shoulder replacement.
i also have a problem with any doctor advising me to seek out rehab, prescribing steroids or any other treatment when they don't bother to look to at the x-rays themselves. all they do is read the report from some x-ray technician. These techs are supposedly trained to read your x-rays correctly and report what they find to the doctor.
There are over 25,000,000 people miss diagnosed because an x-ray technician read x-ray, MRI, or CT Scan incorrectly causing needless surgeries, or no surgery when it is actually needed. Several million people die every year due to misread tests.
i have excruciating pain in both of my shoulders. I can barely pick up a mug of water with either arm. I cant even pull the covers up over me in bed unless i roll over on my back and use both arms. I cant throw the ball for my dogs anymore. According to reports given to the doctors by some IDIOT IMPROPERLY TRAINED, OR HUNG OVER OR TIRED TECH that just glances at tests for less than 5 minutes and reports there is nothing wrong.
I dont know about you but I'm smart enough to know there is a reason for any and all pain you have in any part of your body.
When i have a doctor order tests and then cant take the time to pull up the x-ray, MRI or whatever test you had done find another doctor thats not just running people in and out every 10 minutes.
according to the medical association doctors average less than 15 minutes per patient. should you have more than one issue to talk to them about, when you bring up the second issue they go right back to the first issue and then turn around and walk away.
i have broken most of the bones from my hips up, have several vertebra out of place, my spine is curved and twisted and have degenerative disc disease.
only solution any doctor wants to provide is sending me to a "pain specialist".
I dont know if anyone else has ever been to one, but i remember their solution for back pain of any kind was to cut, freeze or burn nerves. what a shock when it didn't work or last for more than a month or two. When they can reattach hands, fingers, arms, legs, etc and you can regain full function or the part that was reattached because nerves are growing back together that treatment should have never been offered even as a short term fix.
Pain specialists, at least every one i have seen are not doctors. They are anethesiologists with a certificate in pain management. thats like taking your car to someone that has a certificate in auto repair which they can get in 6 months from a tech school. Is that really someone you want performing procedures on your body?
Just be careful when going to a physical therapist or pain specialist. They can do more harm then good. Find a doctor that will take the time to show you your x-rays or whatever test or imaging they ordered. You have no idea if any of them know what's actually wrong if they haven't bothered to look at them.
