@dcanada54 I am recovering from a cervical 3 level posterior fusion, with a lot of pain still 12 weeks later, however it is much better than it was. I know from my experience with pierced earrings when I was a teenager I’m allergic to nickel. Is it always in titanium? Is there any remedies for that?

@ga29 There are replacements without nickel. You may need to be allergy tested for what metals and resins you’re allergic to. My former surgeon thought it was an allergy to the nickel but I wasn’t allergic to nickel, it was the ingredients in the bone cement. My primary physician referred me for testing with an allergist. Good luck.

@ga29 titanium isn't pure. It's an alloy containing other metals and a person could be allergic to any of those metals. A 3 level cervical fusion is a big surgery and 3 months may not be enough recovery. If your fusion has set, you might want to consider myofascial release with a physical therapist to work on tight scar tissue. That gets very tight after surgery and may cause pain. I have done this and it helped me a lot. Here are some links to more information and a provider search.
