Broccoli smoothie
Mainly it’s for jeff Marchi, Jeff when reading an old post I came across a post that you may have mentioned an Australian Broccoli smoothie, can you elaborate on that? Have you tried?

Yes, the whole beauty of veggie recipes is that one can add or deduct whatever one wish and still have amazing and ultra healthy meal. There are more and more studies that prove that spices have tons of beneficial effects on the whole body and I am trying to incorporate them now more in my cuisine. I read that actually just a small amounts of spices are enough to add potent antioxidants in any meal.
I will start growing sprouts as soon as holidays are over : ) - thank you for detailed explanation of your method ! < 3
Even old Romans and Greeks were aware of health benefits of calciferous plants and even spoke of their anti-cancer properties. In Southern and Central Europe regular doctors always give patients plant and herbal remedy advice together with a prescription for standard medications. In the USA it is a novel idea for some reason, but luckily there are many positive changes in that area happening : ))).
Thanks again for finding time to type all of that - I know how much time it takes so it is very much appreciated.

I posted an early version of the recipe.
Looking it over, I may have understated the amount of liquid (tomato sauce) to add… you’ll probably need another can of sauce or another jar of pasta/ marinara….it will be apparent.
…another mistake I did early on is to add too much ground turmeric….you may want to start with 1 tablespoon, instead of two. I know from experience one can definitely put in too much turmeric for a net taste reduction.
You’re exactly right about spices, if you have spices you know you like…substitute away!

I totally get it!
I enjoy the occasional rare filet with loaded bake potato (and broccoli sprouts on the side 😉)…I am NOT a vegan!
But I’ll throw down this challenge…take that recipe and add some shredded lean T-bone steak (preferably grass fed beef).
I think you may find out why

Joking on the side - for the sake of science - that life expectancy is totally wrong.
Any ancient people who were male and survived infant-hood and did not go to war, lived very long lives. So, when you add 50% mortality (age 0-1) and war caused casualties and 2-5% of women dying at age 16- 25 due to childbirth complications - yes , you get average age 35 BUT it is average age of dying of any cause, it does not reflect actual longevity.
Hippocrates who actually wrote about cabbage lived to age of 90 !!!! ahahhaaaaaa XP

Oh don't worry, bean stews are specialty in the country of my origin, I just needed to hear about new ideas and variations of the same : )))) ! Everything in any stew can always be included or excluded and amount of liquid added or reduced, that is the whole beauty of stews : ))). Also, the same stew cooked with different kinds of meat has totally different taste - so many possibilities with any stew recipe. *thumbs up

@handera Alan, how about that recipe with no ground up cruciferous vegetables? Substitute ground beef or turkey, beans, corn and tomatoes. Add some Wick Fowlers 3 Alarm Chili Seasoning and see which one you prefer.
I don’t think I’d sell my birthright for it, but it sure tastes damn good!

@surftohealth88 I developed my broccoli sprouts smoothie recipe by researching Perplexity AI. It's a totally medicinal recipe that no one would ever make for their drinking enjoyment. The smoothie taste sucks, but having a prostate cancer recurrence would suck even more.
See the two attached PDF reports which contain lots of the Perplexity AI details for optimizing the medicinal effectiveness of the smoothie preparation. The PDFs are admittedly lengthy, so here's a summary of the major steps I use:
1. Begin by heating water in a thick, heavy tea cup with a lid to 60 degrees Celsius (use temp probe to verify temperature).
2. Add 3/4 cup of broccoli sprouts (loosely packed) into the tea cup's water.
3. Place cup of broccoli sprouts into microwave and cook for eight minutes at the lowest power setting (e.g., it's a "1" on my microwave) just to maintain the temperature at 60 degrees Celsius. This heating step is important to inactivate something within the sprouts referred to as "ESP" (see PDF details) to maximize the sulforaphane content.
4. Remove cup of broccoli sprouts and let cool to room temperature.
5. While sprouts are cooling, grind up approximate half teaspoon of mustard seeds (will aide the sulforaphane conversion in Step #6 below).
6. Pour the entire contents of the broccoli sprouts cup into a blender along with the ground-up mustard seeds. Apply blender and let sit for 30 minutes while the sulforaphane enzymatic conversion occurs.
7. After the 30 minutes of sulforaphane enzymatic conversion is completed, add approximately 25 grams of whey protein powder and blend again. The addition of the whey protein is a beneficial step to preserve/encapsulate the sulforaphane as it passes through the stomach. It also improves the rather foul sulfur (think rotten eggs) taste of the smoothie.
8. Drink smoothie after blending with the whey protein powder.
I know -- this is not a fun process and it takes a decent amount of time to prepare. But I challenge each of you to perform your own AI search on the best natural compound for preventing a PC recurrence. See what you can find. Here's the exact search phrase I used on this subject when I checked Perplexity AI as well as ChatGPT:
What is the single most helpful natural compound that a former prostate adenocarcinoma patient can orally ingest to inhibit future prostate cancer stem cell growth and recurrences?
I think you know what the answer will be.
