I am a prostate cancer survivor, I have developed urinary tract blockage and now am dependent on Cathators for bladder rerlief I am trying to find an answer to the following question:
Question: Has stints been used in the urinary tract to expand, improve/eliminate urinary blockage? If not why not?

Not a doctor but it seems to me it would depend on the location of the blockage. If you stent the urethra through the urethral sphincter, you may as well use a foley and a bag since you are going to evacuate the bladder constantly. Stents are used in other locations in the urinary tract.

Hi @littlebitmore, I agree with @mjp0512 that the use of stents depends on where the blockage is. Ureteral stents can be used to relieve upper urinary tract blockages.

Have you consulted with your urologist about where the blockage is and how to relieve it?
