In our family they all lived longer than 90 years old. I am also not overweight, cook fresh with a lot of vegetables and did a lot of sports on a high level, I had more strength than the average woman..now I have difficulties to get toothpaste on my toothbrush. I am wondering if you know what medication your father did get at that time and did he take it his whole life? Or did he get flare ups from time tot time and only took medications during a flare up?

@ndep As far as I know Prednisone was his only treatment. After he had GCA he was on it for a long time, I would say at least 10 years, maybe longer. Part of that time it was a very low dose, 1.25 mg. He hated taking any drugs but his doctor thought he should stay on prednisone to prevent a recurrence of the GCA. Sometime in his 90's he told the doctor he didn't want to take it anymore, got off and had no further problems.
