With my TKR I was never informed I could have an allergy to the bone cement. Directly after surgery I was vomiting with a BP of 73/40. My knee was red all over, burning hot, and the pain was worse than before surgery. After three years surgeon thought I could be allergic to the nickel in the titanium replacement. Upon realizing my surgeon was considering a revision my primary physician referred me to an allergist for metal and resin testing. My results were being allergic to the bone cement. It has been a nightmare.

@dcanada54 I am recovering from a cervical 3 level posterior fusion, with a lot of pain still 12 weeks later, however it is much better than it was. I know from my experience with pierced earrings when I was a teenager I’m allergic to nickel. Is it always in titanium? Is there any remedies for that?
