I know this is a long shot since this this conversation was 9 years ago...

I too have extreme leg cramps and leg spasms for over 7 months now. They started out at night only. Then they were night and daytime occasionally. Now they are day and night off and on ALL the time. The leg spasms feel like a thunderstorm happening inside of my legs, even when I wake up. Sometime it keeps me up at night. I was very active with pickleball and golf, until the cramps and spasms started. I now have NOT been active for 3 months now and issues seem to only get worse. I have had many cardiac tests and there have not been any significant findings. Most of my blood work is good. However, LDL is 184 and Lipoprotein A is 265. hTSH 4.69.

What other tests can be done to figure out the cause? I feel like what ever this is, is getting worse each month.

@humormepleez I am a walker and I also work out 3 x’s per week. I get horrible debilitating cramps in my thighs at night as well. Since I’ve been drinking LMNT Electrolytes, I haven’t had any. I order these on Amazon and they seem to do the trick for me. I wish you all the best and I’m so sorry you suffer with these awful cramps. I hope the LMNT works for you.

@humormepleez I highly recommend that you have a coronary CT calcium score test done if you haven’t already. It was the only test that showed that I had an 85 percent blocked coronary artery. Also ask your doctor about the injectable cholesterol lowering drug called Repatha. It brought my LDL down from 150 to 50 in just a couple months
