@bostonian71 Has she been to an alternative medicine/functional medicine doctor? They think outside the box. You could take all of her bloodwork & tests when you go and at least have a consultation.

I was diagnosed 3 years ago with scleroderma, then systemic sclerosis SS. My symptoms started with allergy to multiple foods, starting from raw fruits and vegetables, and then fish, meat, even pasta and bread. Systemic Sclerosis has multi-system involvement, and sometimes it starts in GI and skin only. It can be slow progressing. Blood test for SCL-70 and other autoimmune antibodies can help with diagnosis, ordered by Rheumatology. I also saw Gastroenterologist, and Humira was helpful with my GI symptoms, irritable bowel can be a part of scleroderma as well.

I have also had severe allergies for 50 years. I was allergic to my own skin at age 10, Pemphigus foleousis , severe environmental allergies and the last 10 years have been dealing with food, allergies, 55 high IgE levels. I have been to multiple allergist immunologist with no help. I finally found a Dr in St Louis that diagnosed me with oral allergy syndrome and mast cell activation syndrome in July 2025. I started Xolair injections 525 mg every two weeks and it has helped. No anaphylactic reactions since I started Xolair. I still take 7 to 10 allergy medicines a day. But I am able to re-introduce some foods and not have reactions. Objectively.
