I finally made the decision this summer to take the plunge and buy an Alinker. It’s a little awkward to put it in the back seat of my 4-door compact car, but quite do-able. It has changed my life for the good. As I become better accustomed to it, it goes with me into more & more venues: doctor appointments, shopping malls, & exercising both indoors & outdoors. People are curious about it, so having it increases my socializing a bit. Using it is liberating. I can travel along at a regular walking pace and have no fear of losing my balance or tiring. I am eye to eye with others who are on foot. I feel confident in a new way. It is well worth the expense. If the cost is an issue, Alinker has plans for “rent-to-own” and will even help buyers set up crowd funding. It is an ingenious way to help people get around, maintain &/or build strength, live a fuller life.

@maryalinker Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect! Thank you for posting your experience with this walking aid. It's really good to have people tell us what works for them, and what doesn't. Did you try any other assisted mobility device before settling on this one, may I ask?
