I started taking Brinsupri on 10/29/25. On 11/1/25 I had a sudden onset of chills & temp of 102. Took 2 tylenol and temp went down and I felt fine. Did not notify MD. On 11/17/25, I woke at 2 am with chills, very SOB, Oxygen at 80. Medics took me to hospital where I was treated for hypoxia & temp of 103. I recovered quickly and by 8 am, again, felt fine. I was admitted to the hospital and it was determine that I had strepococcus pneumonia. IV therapy of Cefepime for 5 days with nebulizer treatments 4xdaily. I was discharged on Levoquin 750 mg orally for 4 additonal days. Today, I am feeling well but the cough continues and I am having difficulty bringing up the sputum. Brinsupri is on hold and frankly I am afraid to restart it as with previous infections I have never run a high fever. I have resumed Duoneb following my saline nebulizer 2 times daily followed by the chest compression. (I have also done the compression mid day). My energy level is good, I feel great (except for the nagging cough). Interested if anyone else has had a URI (specific to pneumonia)

@cdward1028 It sounds like you may have been brewing something before you started Brinsupri. Pneumonia is a risk factor in bronchiectasis. Good that you were diagnosed and treated and that you now feel good. When I've had pneumonia it takes me at least 2 weeks to get back to baseline. While on Brinsupri I developed a lower respiratory infection (LRI) after dental work. Very common occurrence according to pulmonologist. Brinsupri can take 3-6 months to work.
