I'm being proactive and looking into assisted living facilities as well as home care. I'm 80 yrs old so it's time! Also looking into hospice care. It takes a lot of phone calls but worth the effort.

If you have a trusted attorney, he/she can be your executor of the will as well as POA and other legal matters. As far as friends go, they might consider it a privilege to deal with your end-of-life matters. I know I would.

I hope everything is in a trust and all medical issues are in writing (DNR, etc.). It's important to get legal; advise on everything. Good luck on everything - you'll get it all in place!

@hellopam to everyone:
Suppose how long we live,
Minus the unexpected.
Is relative to a number that we have in our head we might not even be aware of that number, but for arguments sake let’s say the number is 30% 30% can be increased and the increased means we live longer would we choose the 50% versus the 30% I believe for some mind over matter is a given and because of that it’s not hard for them to be thinking 70% that they’re going to live to be 100
If we wanna Wayne philosophical, it’s easy to see that the conversation can go on forever
So for this post, I’d like to suggest that whatever number we pick has to be in our mind a good number then we live our life out to that number
I watched my mother just make 99. In my mind she would’ve made 106 that she told everybody she was going to live to, however She went to an ER at a very well-known hospital. She had a UTI
She always had UTIs, but in hospital lingo they admitted her when they gave her the typical antibiotics which never work. They decided to go stronger and eventually they made it to the antibiotics can only be prescribed by CDC doctors my brother as power of attorney had to give permission one day after those antibiotics were administered her urine, intern root built root beer, color, and within three days, they suggested that we take her home so she could die in peace truth be known they didn’t dead body on their hands at this particular known nationally known hospital show I watched my mother in her final five hours and I knew she had already checked out. Turns out it could be seen as the hospitals fault and she didn’t make 106.
