My experience is not too good. My first AUS was installed about 7 years ago and lasted about 2 years before malfunctioning. It was removed and another one was put in. Within 6 months this one abscessed and my temp was at 105 from infection. Had emergency surgery to remove it and had to heal for 6 months before the present one was installed. I still use heavy pads with it but without it I gravity drain, so it’s necessary for me. It took 4 surgery’s so hopefully this one lasts. I do believe my experience is unusual at best.

@acoope Wow. Sorry to hear that. They should last 7-10 years. In case someone else's plays up, how did "malfunction" present itself? Pump just not pumping? Warning signs would be very useful to know.
