I was told that Medicare Part B, not Part D, would pay for 7% saline if you got your nebulizer through Medicare. However, I’ve been trying for over a month to get this at CVS. They told me I must have a prescription from doctor with diagnosis on it. It can’t be the PA who sends it. I have still not gotten it despite them saying at NYU that they sent it. Now I’m thinking just to forget it if Medicare Part B says they won’t cover. I’ve been ordering from Amazon, Respease, in the meantime. Wish I could figure this out since will be using forever most likely.

@wandafanda They omitted a few details. You must also have a prescription for a Rx only med like albuterol or budesonide. And the pharmacy must sell nebulizers. And they must be under contract to sell nebulizers. In my state, CVS does not contract to sell nebulizers, so cannot cover saline.

@wandafanda Yes, a prescription is required because there can be complications with the 7% solution. My doctor gave me the prescription, and I have had no side effects.
