So the countdown is on. He'll be fine.
There's certainly a bit of discomfort especially for the first couple of weeks.
The whole area will probably be very bruised for a while. Just be careful showering & I found using a hair dryer to dry the area after a shower worked better than trying to be gentle with a towel.

He may benefit from a ring cushion for little while.
But as with all surgeries, a big healer is time. He should be pretty good well within the 6-week waiting period.
Then it's it's just waiting around for the activation appointment.
