@anniebrook I understand completely. I too am very weary but mindful of what I take for pain relief. My pain management Doctor has now increased my Oxycodone to 15 mg 3x day. I've found that many doctors don't believe us when it comes to pain. They must understand the quality of life we have.
Have you tried the Fibro Malic that is mentioned in this thread?

Oxycodone is serious stuff. Have you tried CBD oil. Ha worked so well for some people they stopped their oxycodone. Just start CBD so can't comment on that. Have you tried Lamotrigine; it worked for me for man-years. Not great but I could walk for a minute with no pain. Does not work anymore.Much less toxic than Oxycodone. Read a few days ago that people are sueing the creators sellers of Oxycodone because they say drug is designed so you want more and more.

@sandytoes14 I know Cymbalta messed me up. The pain specialist I see did give me 5 mg of Hydrocodone. Not much help. I am going to ask him about options as my quality of life is slipping away. I do what I can. Doctors are fearful I suppose. It is discouraging and I don’t mean to be whining. All things considered I think I do pretty darn well at sucking it up. The Fibro is frustrating and throw in the scoliosis, DDD of the spine, TMJ as well as depression, anxiety and the challenges it presents...yes, it could be worse, but I want to believe it could be better. The structural issues cannot be fixed, but I think they could be treated to better improve how life is now. Maybe I am a
dreamer.

@parus I was without Cymbalta for a few days and it gave me some of the worst panic I've had in many years. It does work for 3 things for me-- anxiety, depression and Fibro so hopefully it continues to do so. I've been at a low dose 60 mg for years. When we have so many issues, I have DDD and herniated disc, all not deemed to be surgically successful in treating. You are not whining or a dreamer..if you are then I guess I am too!
@stulerner I had a reaction to Lamotrigine/Lamictal years ago. I'm glad it's working for you.
I have not tried CBD oils yet. My medical team and I have found that because I had gastric bypass nearly 12 years ago I process medicines much differently than "normal" people. Yes, oxycodone is serious stuff but I believe it's what I need now. I've had chronic pain for 25 years now.

@lioness Still taking the Fibro Malic and did reorder. All I can say is nothing unpleasant from taking thus. I have always been slow to notice changes unless negative. Not hurting. Also ordered a probiotic.

@stulerner I'm so sorry to hear this C ymbalta for me was a horrible drug . Some people can take it some cant our bodies are all different What dose are you taking? When I talked to my Dr. she said the 300mg was to strong for me I could never take the prescribed mg that is suggested. Maybe you are the same she put me on 100mg at night that worked well for about a week then my brain didn't like it so I just soak my feet in Epsom salts as magnesium is good for the nerves and muscles . Also do stretching exercises . A friend who has neuropathy started and said how much it has helped her just after one session. Now she comes all the time. Hope you feel better.

thx. I don't recall the dose. Don't think it was high. Will check with my pharmacy to see what it was. of course, throughout the rest

Hi Jen!
I also had gastric bypass in 2007. Lamotrigine worked for me after the surgery in 2009 or so. My doctor put me back on it, but I don’t feel I’ve gotten the energy
Or relief from my bipolar disorder that I got before. I take 125mgs morning and night. Have you experienced this? I’m also taking Cymbalta as I suffer from Fibromyalgia. I take 90mgs In the morning.
Recently Trintellix 10mg in the morning only but can’t tell any difference. I get instant relief from Abilify but hate the weight gain.
Abilify gives me instant get up and go after
I take it the first night. What have you tried as far as meds?
I’m getting really discouraged because what worked before is not doing the same anymore. Doctors have told me our bodies change so normal we don’t get the same result.

I have to add that the Lamotrigine would totally lift my pain when I went to bed. The only unpleasant side effects were weight gain and SEVERE HOT FLASHES AT NIGHT AND DURING THE DAY WHEN I WAS TEACHING.
It’s very discouraging to have had such good results from the Lamotrigine before and not so much the s time. No pain relief but at least no
Hot flashes.
