Did everything go ok? I was told there is a possibility that the hydrocele would come back after drained. How long was your rehab?
Thank you very much for any information you could give me

I am 73 y/o and have a hydrocele cyst in the crease of my left groin. See my earlier post from March 6. My urologist has been monitoring it for several years now. He says it is benign and only needs to be addressed if I find it bothersome. Very occasionally if I sit or cross my legs when wearing tighter jeans (all of my jeans seem to be tighter these days) I might notice a dull pain, but it is not a big deal so far. The issue is, as you mentioned, they keep growing and it will likely come back after it is drained. My doc says removing it completely is more effective and it is a lot less likely to return, but not guaranteed. He also added that that particular location has a bundle of nerves running through the area and there is a possibility of nerve damage and associated nerve pain after surgery. He said if it was him, he would not have the surgery to have complete removal. If I ever decide to do something about it, I will try to get an appointment at the Mayo Clinic and get another opinion. Let us know what you decide. Best of luck!
