Thank you…my appointment is with The Pituitary-Gonad-Adrenal (PGA) clinical facility located in the endocrinology outpatient service area of the Mayo Building . I am assuming the lodging is typical in cost…we are looking for a mid-priced room for Wednesday night … what is the best lodging resource for patients?
@bpenner, I asked my husband. He said he likes to use the Rochester visitor site. It will be able to show you locations near and around Mayo and prices. http://www.rochestercvb.org/
We have stayed at Brentwood Inn and suites because it is directly across street from where I start my day on my annual visits. And we have stayed at Kahlar Inn and Suites. (This is if we cannot get a room at the Gift of Life house for transplant patients). Pricing varies. some places, I think, give a Mayo discount, it is the same as AAA or AARP.
We choose to be nearby, that is a personal choice. There are shuttles from mostly all hotels. The city is really good at taking care of the Mayo visitors.

You are very helpful…I will just do a normal search then…we do a lot of traveling so I will just use my typical connections. My insurance may even cover some of the lodging. Thanks again
Sounds like you have a good plan!
I wish for you to enjoy a safe trip.

Hi @bpenner,
I'd like to also introduce you to @dawn_giacabazi and @kdubois. I believe, they have both been to the endocrinology clinic in the Mayo Building in Rochester. They may have additional information about getting to your first appointment and things to help you prepare.
Also, did you see this discussion about the first visit? https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/first-visit/
Thank you very much…were it just me alone I would go in without a map but I refuse to be the guilty husband who will not ask for directions lol….we are all set up by our local MD so it is just a matter of getting to right room…being a patient patient and letting them zap me a good one…you have been very helpful and we will no doubt be asking for more help along the way…blessings.
Hi @bpenner!!
Great department!! I love the staff at Dr Schwartz's department. Actually everyone is so great and helpful. My last stay was in November and the Microtel Inn & Suites was very nice with continental breakfast and a shuttle that runs all day to all the mayo campus and St Mary's Hosp. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g43466-d8522786-Reviews-Microtel_Inn_Suites_by_Wyndham_Rochester_South-Rochester_Minnesota.html
Praying for a great trip!!

I know the Mayo clinic has a concierge service and a travel service that can help you with accommodations.
Indeed they do Karen. Thanks for mentioning it. Here is the link to the free concierge services http://mayocl.in/21nM5T6 There is also a fee-based service.
@bpenner, Good Morning and Welcome to Connect.
I am a patient at the Rochester, MN location. You will find that the Mayo Campus is well planned and easy to navigate. Plus, there are volunteers who are eager to assist. There is lodging within walking distance, and lodging that is too far to walk. Free shuttles are available on regular routes. Mayo and St Mary Campus are connected via a shuttle that goes back and forth between the two at regular intervals. You just can't beat delivery to the front door! There is a variety of accommodations available and rates vary accordingly.
I am sending you the following link. There is information about all the campuses and well as maps.
