Metabolic treatment for neuropathy
Recently went to a chiropractor certified in Blueprint for neuropathy which works with 'feedinig' nerve cells metabolically to increase angiogenisis (developtment of new blood vessels) and then triggering and retraiining nerve firinig. Lots of new ideas i did not get from my GP or neurologist. Feeding the cells involves triggering growth factors (and nitric oxide) to regrow new blood vessels around nerves-- a natural process that works basically throughout our lives but may be non functioning in Neuorpathy (NP). They use a couple of devices for retraining new nerves or those that have regained functioning. Includes red light therapy and a 'rebuilder'. Has anyone ever tried the Blueprint process or some of these methods? It seems pretty comprehensive though not cheap. I've read up on the growth elements and the major research facilities have done solid research on them.

Can I ask if you went through with the treatment and did it help? My husband is in the same place you started. Cost is nearly 10k. A lot for us. If it works we will make it happen but we just can't get enough information to get comfortable with it. Anodyne red light therapy with supplements and chiropractic visits for spine issues. He is considered prediabetic. Thanks for any light you can shed.
I didn't do the treatment as I did hear some negative things (though you would want to do your own research on that as there are positive things too). The cost was also a concern so instead I bought a TENS unit and have been using that on my feet for some months. Along with the Acetyl-L-Carnitine and Alpha Lipoic Acid recommended by my neurologist I had several months of much-reduced symptoms. My Aug/Sept was busy and stressful and I've had other health issues resulting in more tingling and discomfort. Working on settling things out but I believe I can get back to the more stable place over time. I have recently purchased a red light therapy unit and just started using it. Has that worked for your husband? Does he use a flat wrap or a boot? I haven't seen a boot that I liked--purchased one but it had thick plastic over the lights which made my feet hotter and I had more discomfort so I retured it. I've been just using the flat one on the bottom of my feet--don't know if it's working or not.

1 Reaction@cboydb He hasn't decided if he wants to proceed with the chiropractor. We've heard negative stuff too so he's hesitant. Hope the red light works for you.
Doesn’t seem feasible. I recovered from foot drop once. Therapists said it was very rare.
A little over a year ago I tried the Blueprint neuropathy treatment program and was diligent about it for the full 6 months. I have type 2 diabetes. The treatment provided no relief or diminution of the progressive peripheral neuropathy in my feet. I think that entire program is hogwash and just another manner in which chiropractors and manufacturers/marketers of holistic medicine and supplements extract large amounts of money from those desperate for relief. As far as I am concerned this program is a complete waste of money and time.

Have you found any treatment that provides some relief for your neuropathy symptoms?

1 Reaction@johnbob3 unfortunately there are so many fraudulent claims out there that say they have a solution regarding neuropathy.
Not one can cure neuropathy so you may want to bypass all the ads.

1 Reaction@SusanEllen66 actually I know for a fact in some cases damaged nerves can regenerate as I have personally experienced it in a frostbitten finger that lost all sensation. It slowly returned over a 6 week period afterwards to completely normal. That is why I have some hope for relief from my PN. Nonetheless, I am very much shying away from the chiropractic practice that wants >$12K for a 12 month program that they claim has a 95%+ success rate in stopping progression of PN, but when I asked the salient question of how much improvement do they see with that success rate it is less than 50%. It is sad that area of healthcare preys on the desperate and less inquisitive with regard to clear scientific evidence for their claims. I’ve not seen anything that clearly works as far as pushing a halt to progression and resolution of PN symptoms short of topicals such as lidocaine or some creams such as capsaicin, menthol or eucalyptus oil which only provide very temporary relief when they work in certain cases.
