Gotcha! I studied neural networks in the 90's in graduate school and it was kind of fun/hilarious to train backpropagation with wonky input data and see the results, it also illustrated that when trained correctly it produced great results.

Fast forward to today, and recalling that in 2022 I think Dr. Kwon indicated that of the 44,000 new cases of PCa, there were over 2,000 different treatment paths. One must be extremely careful to use artificial intelligence, but I certainly concur is a nice to place to start if you know what you are about to do next!

@edmond1971 Yes, agreed. Neural networks are interesting stuff, and to their credit, they do attempt to reproduce human reasoning (however imperfectly).

LLMs like ChatGPT are something else altogether: instead of trying to recreate thought, proponents realised we'd reached a tipping point where it is technologically and economically feasible simply to apply massive computing power to a game of "guess the next word." Rather than building a better fly swatter like traditional AI research was trying to do, just get some dynamite and blow up the room where the fly is buzzing around — problem solved! 😕
