I have lichen planus. I took methotrexate for 2 Mos and took myself off. I've never had a medicine affect me so adversely. I was so tired all the time I could barely get up and down. On top of that I had nausea so badly I couldn't eat or drink. I stopped taking it and my life went back to normal. I've used every cream and now I'm on an ointment called desoximetasone. It is wonderful. I have oral and vaginally lichen plants. This med is for vaginally. I was at the end of my rope before doctor at UNC prescribed it. I also took folic acid with the methotrexate. I wish you much success

@lww thank you so much for sharing! I am also being treated at UNC for the same LP - oral & vaginal. l’ve been using clebetasol ointment for vaginal flare, but I feel like it is too harsh for my body. What cream do you use & do you feel that the desoximetasone ointment is helpful? I’m also curious how you are managing OLP. I have been using dexamethasone swish & clobetesol ointment, but even using a soft bristle toothbrush can be harsh. Suggestions?
