Yes for years. Some days I feel terrified, afraid I'm about to die, shaking, hold my breath and freeze almost afraid to move, I want to scream out, all I can do is sit and rock like a nut case or stay curled up under my covers. They've put me on so many meds for that and depression and sleep. Now my brain is like desinigrating, all mixed up, I can't process things and a list of other things now I think these darn meds are causing. All antpsychotics or antidepressents with long lists of side effects. Idk what to do anymore.

It is very hard experience. No question about it. I am glad you will see psychiatrist. Maybe new meds will help you.

@sleepstate I hope you can find a Doctor that can find medications that work for you. Try Zoloft, Wellbutrin and Buspar. The combination might help with your anxiety and panic attacks. I get crucified every time I say this but Klonopin could also help your panic attacks. Just stay at the same dose and don’t abuse it.
Before someone beats me to it I will say they are addictive but it is better than living like you are.
Everything we put in our body has side effects.
Good luck to you. I hope you find something that brings you relief.

@starla if you are on Citalopram, it would be best if you consulted your doctor before adding a natural supplement for your anxiety and panic attacks. Natural supplements are okay on their own, but when combined with a pharmaceutical drug you may have adverse results. I would suggest you take either the prescription meds or the natural supplements - not both.

@annako withdrawal symptoms can be pretty bad if you stop cold turkey when on any anxiety medications. It is best to come off them gradually under supervision of your doctor.

In the meantime, belly breathing is very helpful. Amazing how deep breathing can ease not only anxiety, but also pain (I still breathe deeply whenever I have to take painful injections and find they hurt less).
