Why do you specify leather? I have a pair of Merrill waterproof hiking shoes that are wide for my big feet with a large toe box for thick socks. They are also vibram heals and soles for slippage.

@jenatsky I specified leather because it's what my husband asked for. You're right that there are waterproof shoes other than leather and I'll look into the Merrill hiking boots. Thank you!!
