@1995victoria After surgery your oncologist recommended radiation to the vagina (brachytherapy)? Did the oncologist say where in the vagina? To the vaginal cuff (assuming your cervix was also removed)?

While we may have similar diagnoses here many of us receive different recommendations from our oncologists I was diagnosed in 2019 with endometrial cancer (endometrioid adenocarcinoma), FIGO Grade 1. Like you I had sentinel node biopsies and they were clear. Pathology staged me Stage 1a. At follow-up my gyn-oncologist said no adjuvant (radiation or chemotherapy) was needed or recommended. She gave me a cancer survival plan with all of my information including how often I should return for follow-up appointments referred to as "cancer surveillance".

Did your oncologist tell you why they recommended brachytherapy? At your follow-up appointment this week you can ask those questions. I'd ask why brachytherapy is recommended, and if yes, will you refer me to radiation oncology? It will be the radiation oncologist who will evaluate you and your pathology to make treatment recommendations for how much radiation and how it will be administered.

On what day is your appointment?
