New Daily Persistent Headache
I was just recently diagnosed with probable ndph, tension type. I have constant pressure that feels as though I have something inside my brain pressing outward. I’m curious if anyone else has had this. I’ve had a chronic headache (which feels more like brain pressure) since September. It sometimes feels sinus like, sometimes behind my left eye, and sometimes just all over (like my entire brain)
CT Was clear, they ordered MRI, MRA and MRV. Bloodwork was completely normal. No signs of infections.
I was prescribed a 5 day, “bridge treatment” that is a steroid. If it is unsuccessful I will need to take a daily medication for prevention.
What helps you? Heat? Ice? I need relief. I’ve tried chiropractors, dry needling, migraine medications..

@lyndsieguzek for me the natural route of Migrelief which contains Vitamin B-2 (400 mg), Magnesium Citrate and Oxide (360 mg) and Feverfew (100mg). I also take 400 mg of Magnesium Complex, CoQ10 (200 mg, although the recommendation is 300).

1 Reaction@lyndsieguzek I have had fewer migraines and don’t have a continual headache as much. And of course the PT every other week right now helps a lot!
@bswpb
Hi, I have persistent headaches from three craniotomies. Had osteomyelitis which contributed to my headaches. A year after my last craniotomy I am now getting headaches all day all night. Any suggestions as to what works for you ? Thanks and feel better as this headache thing is truly exhausting.
@suzannedee I agree headaches are exhausting. For me it’s a combination of the supplements my doctor recommended: Migrelief which contains Vitamin B-2 (400 mg), Magnesium Citrate and Oxide (360 mg) and Feverfew (100mg). I also take 400 mg of Magnesium Complex, CoQ10 (200 mg, although the recommendation is 300). Oh and 3 mg of melatonin to help with sleep. Only I need at least 4.5 mg for a full nights sleep. I am fortunate that my insurance allows me a lot of visits for PT a year and 12 for chiropractic because it takes it all. I have had some success with Doterra Past Tense Essentials Oil, although more so in the past. For me the right pillow is essential. Also I have certain foods that will trigger a headache. They are so hard to manage!
My headaches began immediately after a dental appointment in 1985. They are very severe, and I still have them. At first, it was a couple of times a month. They led to constant vomiting to the point that my throat or esophagus become so swollen that I couldn't breathe. The er injected me with meperidine and visaril--I'm certain I didn't spell the right. They tried every pain med for five years. Finally, the doctor said to try this older drug-Fiorinal w/codeine. It worked immediately. I still have these headaches, only they are everyday when I wake up. Yep, I've been taking one daily for the last three years. I know what is said about opioids, but I don't want to suffocate. I have never been checked for a cause. They just tell me they are tension headaches. I don't want to take this dope, but the only other choice is death, and I'm not ready to go. Good luck to you. At least you know what's not causing it.
@bswpb sounds like you have this down. Yes I go to a chiropractor as well. Does not always help.
And melatonin does help?
Thanks for this. I’m going to look into to the Migrelief.
@bswpb is the migrelief powder form? If you could drop a link that would be awesome.
Kratom
@lyndsieguzek it’s a tablet. https://www.migrelief.com/
I get it at a pharmacy that does compounding and has physician grade supplements. It’s cheaper than Vitamin Shoppe.
Have you ever considered that you might’ve grinding your teeth while sleeping? I had my share of migraines premenopause and was given furonol w/codeine which relieved the pain but made me loopy and sleepy. And I was running a business then!
Anyway my dentist said I was grinding so I got a small mouth guard to wear at night to preserve my teeth and don’t have any headaches anymore.
Hope this helps someone.
