Replies to "@jk60 Have you ever been diagnosed with osteoporosis? Thank you!"
@tillymack
Yes- had my first dexa at 65 and I was shocked. I’ve had high cholesterol so I had not been eating dairy or protein like I should have. I am working out daily, ( weights, jumping program, balance training etc) keeping track of my calcium and protein. Added collagen, fortibone ,and k2 supplements. Hoping to not have to take any meds.

@tillymack Yes, I have mild osteoporosis…doc said after all the fairly recent cancer/surgery/treatments, this is not the time (for me) for the harsh meds usually prescribed…so I’m doing OP guided PT, trying a supplement that is a plant-based combo of calcium, D3 , K2 , a little magnesium, etc.— and walk/exercise as much as my back will allow…also, a few dietary adjustments…checked the supplement, etc. with my team as I do with everything, since we are working together to achieve best balance to stay cancer-free.
