How does IVIG help neuropathy?
IVIG is primarily used for immune-mediated neuropathies, where the body's own immune system mistakenly attacks the peripheral nerves.
Research IVIG through AI to see if it can help you.
It’s enlightening.

1 Reaction@allessio77 mine is complicated. Had EMG in 9/23. My neuropathy was getting worse quickly since that June. Started In around 4/2011 in right Foot. (Had Leukemia AML in 1981, Chemo, Total body Radiation and Bone Marrow Transplant. No Neuropathy ever. 2007 DX w BC, late effect from 1981 treatments. Chemo and double mastectomy w silicone implants that were removed in 4/2015, ruptured and leaking. Last Chemo TX was 2/4/2008. Never once during treatment experience neuropathy! Then around April of 2011, stated in my right toe. March 2023 told high Cholesterol went on a Statin. By June down at family reunion in Stone Harbor, Cape May NJ needed help walking, my fingers got way worse. Needless etc. so Sept my Neurologist had his Partner do EMG. Went back for results. Partner wanted to do Spinal Tap. My Dr response to me, ‘I am not ready to go that route yet’. So earlier this year my Neuro tells me wants to do EMG. I said why we did that. He said, this can tell if you might have CIPD. My protein in spinal fluid was 88.8!!! Also he ordered blood work. I see you mentioned KAPPA? Mine said Free Kappa Lt Chains, S range, 3.3-19.4 mine flagged high at 37.8 and 2 others, Lambda Lt Chains,S and Kappa Lambda Ratio,S I have no clue what that all means. Only the Protein in my Spinal Tap, not good. An indicator for CIDP. I was to see a doctor at another Major Hospital they specialize in DX & treating CIDP this past Monday but was to ill feeling to go so cancelled. I also read somewhere on here that if you had Chemo you can’t take IVIG. Isn’t that one of the tx’s for CIDP? Sorry so long. TY
@oliver8112000 Also note: my neuropathy came out of nowhere in 4/2011, almost 3 years after my last Chemo TX. Again I never experienced any neuropathy ever with any chemotherapy treatments. Not even in 1981. Doctors kept telling me, it’s from chemo!!!! No it’s not!!!!
Yes, your story is much more complicated and I can only hope you feel better.
Chemo could cause neuropathy but we all experience it differently.
As far as using IVIG goes - from what I understand having CHEMO eliminates you.
Plus, the type of blood cancer you have determines if you can use IVIG, as well.
I’d suggest researching on Gemini AI for a very thorough analysis.
