Hi, I am 19 months post Op TKR and am still having issues especially with "The Band" sensation around my knee. If you don't have you, count your blessings. & after manipulation 2 months after surgery I got Tendonitis of my Glut/buttocks. I did have 1 cortisone injection in my glut but it did not lessen the pain. I stretch my knee each morning and I feel it helps it. I called the surgeons office and they said I am welcome to get another opinion. I don't feel I should have to get another opinion but that is what I have to do. I feel that my knee is not right, always discomfort, burning and tenderness. I wanted to ask if any one else has the Band?

I am 4 months into recovery and the “band” sensation you mention is quite painful but if I continue with PT exercises it becomes much worse with swelling, burning, abstaining sensations. My surgeon is no help. Currently my PT is trying to to find some solutions for me but right now nothing is working

@suzyduff I have not had a band feeling, but my TKR was done in Sept of 2020 and my knee has never felt right. It still hurst especially going up and down the stairs. My left knee is bone on bone but after going through that first replacement with results that are not so great, I just can never bring myself to go through such torture again! My surgeon told me that I “will never have the knee that God gave me”!!! If I were you, I would definitely get another opinion. I was so disappointed with my surgeon and his office because once the surgery was done and I was having a lot of pain, along with some anxiety and a little depression from the surgery, they told me to call my primary care. I wish you all the best with all that you are going through right now. If I were you, I would definitely get another opinion.
