I’ve had numerous issues with a blocked bowel for years. I had surgery in May to loosen the scar tissue around it, but still have peridiodic issues. The ONLY product that has ever religiously worked for me when I’m constipated is Ex-Lax pills with lots of water. Senecot is a close second, but typically takes a day or so to work. I haven’t found a fiber supplement that works. I eat vegetables and fruits every day. Good luck to you.

Hello @mnlady51160, and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. Surgeries of the digestive tract often lead to other digestive problems, such as constipation or diarrhea. I want to invite you to a discussion group that could be helpful. Here is the link:
--How Do I Eat After Digestive Tract Surgery
https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/how-do-i-eat-after-digestive-tract-surgery/
In this group, you will meet others who have discussed how they eat to avoid constipation, etc. You will learn about cooking methods, as well as the timing and quantities of foods that work well after surgery.

Do you tend to eat small, frequent meals?

So sorry to hear about your situation. Have you tried working with a GI doc?
I am going to see one next week.
Right now, the only thing that work for me is Ducolax and Fleets enemas.
