I've had 8 kidney stones and most were treated by ureteroscopy with laser lithotripsy.

Thanks for your response. Did you get general anesthesia, and how painful was it afterward during recovery? Were you able to go home the same day?

From what I have been reading, the shock wave therapy isn't an option for my husband since he's on blood thinners, so it sounds like he may be a candidate for ureterostomy. His urologist doesn't have any appointment openings until February.
