@leleo81682 this is exactly the same as my mom, 82. Symptoms from nowhere and now in bed most of the day exhausted. Tremors started in hands and noe all over. Memory loss is odd - forgets but then remembers but then often a complete blank. Strange behaviours for her. Gets irritated by everything. No patience. Foggy vision. Sometimes it lifts for a few hours. I notice this happens after spending a few hours pampering her with nice shower, washing her hair, giving her a relaxing massage and playing a meditation for relaxation/sleep. She said it felt like everything had lifted, she felt light and could see clearly. I think her system is in total overload from the constant high anxiety, and she is like a coiled spring winding tighter.

I truly know how your mom is feeling. Although I’m only 67, my severe anxiety came out of nowhere too in Sept 2025. All of a sudden, I started getting horrible anxiety waves first thing upon waking or walking me up. The anxiety lasts all day. It’s debilitating…I feel generally unwell, weak, tremor and tingling hands and feet. In desperation I started on a benzo (clonazepam) and an SNRI (venlafaxine). I’ve only been on the SNRI for 4 weeks because I’m terrified of the future withdrawal. I still take the Benzo as needed once or twice day. Life is very difficult.
In my case I suspected hormone changes and am now seeing an ND who specializes in menopause/post menopsuse and have started HRT . I pray to God this is the source and will resolve my problem.
As for your mom, could it also be a hormone change? No one talks about hormone changes as we grow old. Those who have never experienced severe anxiety will NEVER understand. They think you just have to take a deep breath and get counseling…
