@ekorre
well I already had 1 year of evenity with zero side effects and 22.8% gain in spine and 9% hip. the first year of alendronate held the gains and even increased them and the second year they began to decline. I have zero cardiac issues and had a coronary calcium score which was zero. I have exercised my entire life and continue to do so. A second round of evenity was recommended. This time I may follow with ONE dose of Prolia followed by reclast. Prolia concerns me greatly because of the rebound if you ever stop. I’m a ‘young’ 69 so not ready to commit to a lifetime of Prolia. Atypical femur fractures as well as osteo necrosis of the jaw concerns me or the need for dental work later as sadly I do have many crowns that are healthy now but not sure about the future. Best to you

@hikernurse Good for you, I am glad you did not have any issues with Evenity. But with all of these bone medications, you probably have to be on them for life.

@hikernurse
These are the same concerns I have. I am starting on Tymlos tomorrow …my first drug for Osteoporosis-4.8 tscore

@hikernurse SAME I had a very good oral surgeon say to me that I've had a lot of 'good, expensive' dental work in my past but that means I'll probably need more in my future. I think the dentists feelings are even if the theoretical risk of the jaw necrosis is low, for some of their patients - me, maybe you - it's higher just because we spend so much time in those goddamn chairs.

For now I'm still trying to avoid the drugs although would love to get back to skiing in this lifetime and that's what the drugs promise.
