Probably not. Most TEVAR procedures are experimental only on the ascending aorta. Part of that is due to the movement of the ascending aorta in relation to the aortic root and aortic arch. The landing zones can't but a lot of torque on the landing zones, even if it works. I had a Bental procedure done during some other open heart procedures in Sep 2024. There is still a section between the dacron graft and arch of about 4.6 cm at this point. I was told emphatically by a congenital specialist cardiologist that EVAR is not an option if it needs addressed in the future. That means I could be looking at another open heart surgery in the future. The other issue is that its impossible tell what the thickness of my remaining ascending aorta is at this point.
