Constant UTI's

I'm posting for my mom who is 79 and generally okay other than this issue. Her bladder stopped working and I believe we explored all options to get it to work. She is seeing a doctor at Sloan Kettering for it. My mom does not want to get the Supra pub bag because she is afraid of the things that can wrong.
1sr question - does anyone have that and find it okay? Mom is self catheterizing but she keeps getting an infection

2nd question- any advice for self catheterizing. She said she is being careful. She is sore too.

I should have mentioned the biggest issue is she keeps getting infections. She is okay for a week and then it happens again. They want to give her estradiol cream but she had clear cell carcinoma and that's a cancer they say don't use any estrogen.
