I have had a new scan have not been doing anything to stop it except diet and exercise. I feel i must do more what do you recommend.
VASCULATURE, FLUID SURVEY, LYMPH NODES : No free fluid. A partially calcified mesenteric mass measures 4.9 x 3.1 cm on image 362 of series 8, previously 4.3 x 2.9 cm. A nodule immediately superior to this measures 1.2 x 1.2 cm on image 333, increased from 0.8 x 0.9 cm.

Support from other patients is good, but there is no substitute for informed medical advice. Diet and exercise alone are not enough, that much i can say from experience.

I'm sorry you're seeing progression. Sounds like it's time for some treatment. I strongly recommend that you consult with a net specialist in order to get the best advice as to how to proceed. You can find a list of specialists by state at http://www.netrf.org

At a minimum, I imagine they would recommend that octreotide or lanreotide injections should start

I have similar calcified mesenteric masses. I chose not to do "exploratory" surgery but am taking Octreotide injections monthly. After 4 injections, I am not experiencing any issues or other symptoms. I will do another CT or PET after 6 injections, so that will be my barometer. I too have changed my already healthy diet and continue to exercise. Best to you!

Seems like it’s slow growing but I think I’d do some type of treatment before it gets any bigger. What does the Dr recommend?

does the shots have side effects which is less sever tje o or the l
I understand that the shots hurt

The lanreotide and octreotide injections can be a little painful during the injection but side effectss are typically minimal. You do need to monitor your blood sugar as the meds can cause an increase. Some experience stomach issues. Many have no problem at all
I know that the concern about side effects of any treatment is real. But you need to seriously weigh those concerns over not doing anything.
