TKR revision 5 months ago, can’t get leg to straighten
5 months post surgery and leg is not straight. Had MUA and surgeon said he didn’t want to push on knee because he didn’t want to break my bones. Has anyone experienced this problem. Working hard at PT and at home exercises. Nobody seems to know what to do about this.

To all who posted about lack of knee bend-ability after surgery, what questions do I need to ask my Orthopedic surgeon at my first appointment ?
How can I somehow not have this problem as both knees are now bent while walking?
Is there any prior to surgery PT that would improve the existing knee bend before surgery???
What exercises help with knees that are bent?
@lynnn good that it doesn’t affect anything. Maybe it will improve after a few more months.

Sounds like one of the exercises I do in my PT sessions. They fold up a hand towel and put it on the table under my surgical knee. I then press down as hard as I can with my knee and then raise my leg and repeat. 30 times as I recall. Sort of like a reverse push up.

I have said before, and I will say again, finding the best surgeon is the most important and most impactful thing you can do to improve your chance of a painless or minimal pain surgery. Think how much better it would have been if the second surgeon had been the first.
At least you got a revision and it looks like it will be successful. Hang in there.
