Took Cymbalta once. doctor had assured me that this would not have problems. He was wrong. Extremely depressed. Refused to take it again.
Took Lamictal for 2 years because doctor was trying to evaluate for bi-polar. Not sure why your doctor is using this medicine. Maybe talk to someone else?

@ailsas , you said you were put on Lamictal. I was put on it because it is a mood smoother, appropriate for me, since I was having totally good, maybe a bit more like manic-good, and then totally black days. It did the job for me, lessening my sudden anger outbursts, and curbing me from having impossibly loud joyous crazy days (which annoyed many others). Shortly after starting on the med, I mentioned my change in medications to my epileptologist who then upped my dose to where it could manage my seizures and eliminate a schedule 4 drug I was taking. I was also warned that for most folks, this medication kicked in very slowly, and at both dosage I was put on a very slow taper to full dose. I've never heard of Lamictal used as a pain med! If it is, well it didn't act that way for me; I still have severe back pain, foot pain and belly pain. Oh well. Sorry for the Cymbalta. I'm on it for depression and it's been fine now.
