My oncologist recommended effexor for hot flashes from nubeqa. Anyone been on that medication and did it help?

Sorry not sure of nubeqa but I take herb Black Cohosh which is helping. Had been on depoprovera
but can be damaging, injection works for about a month

I’m pretty sure Nubeqa didn’t give you hot flashes. You must be on ADT as well or your testosterone is very low. That is what gives you hot flashes.. Nubeqa Works very well with testosterone present And does not suppress testosterone.

My oncologist had me get depo-provera Shots every three months and it worked great To stop my hot flashes. It also doesn’t cause gynecomastia.

Not familiar with using Effexor. Has it been working for you?

My Doc put me on Effexor for hot flashes when I hit menopause and surprisingly it worked pretty well. It didn't completely get rid of the hot flashes but it sure made them less intense.

I got a prescription filled for some but took it for two nights; just didn't want to be on another medication

@asolidrock, I'll also tag members like @over80bob @dmougey @drawevets @zotmormon along with @rdslmks, who have considered taking venlafaxine (Effexor) to help manage hot flashes from ADT.

I'll also add that venlafaxine is an antidepressant, serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI). When you no longer require the drug, please be advised to taper slowly to avoid withdrawal symptoms.

@asolidrock, did you decide not to take Effexor?
