I am having a similar experience. I had a shin shave biopsy 8 weeks ago for a lesion that turned out to be benign. I first had zinging pain for several weeks. That subsided somewhat but now I have achiness and sore feeling in the shin. I went back to the dermatologist who prescribed antibiotic cream and told me that if I had pain it was nothing to do with what he did with the surgery. I saw my neurologist who gave me a physical exam and said that I would eventually heal but wanted me to consult a different dermatologist. I saw one at Columbia Presbyterian and she said the wound had healed but wanted to give me a cortisone shot because the nerve pain could go on for month. I did not take the shot as I felt it could cause problems as I have celiac disease and peripheral neuropathy. I asked for physical therapy but she is referring me to pain management instead. I will go there next week and want to know the reason why I am suffering like this. My neuropathy had always been manageable. I am still able to exercise though my leg feels weak. I will tell you that the situation is beyond depressing. I eat well and take some vitamin supplements including the Bs and ALA. Any support or help would be welcomed!
