I’ve been through the desert on a horse with no name. It felt good to be out of the rain. In the desert, you can remember your name because there ain’t no one for to give you no pain.

I also like the song "Old Sam and I crossed the desert without a drop of water, cool, clear water..."

I looked up the song. Sam Cooke - You Send Me (1957)! I was 15 and 9th grade. No wonder it has stuck in my memory. 15 was a tough year for me, just as it is for most teen-agers.
