I agree about the wrist brace for severe thumb arthritis. I am having a new one made next week, because my 15-year old model finally broke. It was the only thing that stopped the pain, and I don't wear it all the time, only when the flare is bad enough to keep me awake at night or curtail my activities. These casts are made specifically for each person, by a trained OT or PT expert, and they are fashioned for you with a product called thermoplastic casting. The heated plastic is shaped for your thumb and wrist and should fit perfectly. I wear it for 12 -18 hours and I am good to go. Ask your ortho about it if you have severe pain. I am a candidate for surgery, but I don't want to go under the knife again, and this works for me.

Hi- I just purchased from Amazon FREETOO Ergonomical Thumb Brace Right Hand or Left Hand for Arthritis Pain and Support, Thumb Splint for Trigger Thumb, Thumb Support for De Quervains Tenosynovitis, Fits Palm 7.5''-8.5'' S/M Pink for one hand and White for the other. They are fabulous and very reasonably priced. I also have full size braces, but for thumbs- these are great!
